Q: Who can apply for Transfer students?

A: A person who is currently studying at a university in Taiwan can apply for foreign student transfer on the second(sophomore) or the third(junior) year. 

Transfer Application Notice
1. International students studied at a college or university in Taiwan and meet the regulation in Article 4 of TKU Regulations Governing International Student Admission and MOE regulations Regarding the Assessment and Recognition of Foreign Academic Credentials for Institutions of Higher Education may apply to transfer to the bachelor’s programs of TKU. Students wishing to transfer to TKU, the accumulated period of study shall be at least 2 semesters. 
2. International students who are dismissed from Taiwan schools due to poor academic performance can only transfer to the school by the channel of local transfer admission exams. Those who are dismissed from Taiwan schools due to behavior issues, poor academic performance or a conviction under the Criminal Law may thereafter not apply for admission.
3. The credits earned from previous college or university courses prior to applying for admission to TKU can be transferred within one week of the school opening day after submitting the previous transcripts to the intended department and approved by the intended department and the Office of Academic Affairs. See the TKU Regulations Governing the Transfer of Credits for the application procedure. 
4. Transfer students can only apply at the third round of Fall Semester admission. A proof of study certificate and an original transcript provided by the previously enrolled university in Taiwan must be uploaded with the application. Candidates applying for the sophomore year must have an official transcript of course grades for at least one or two semesters. Candidates transferring to the junior year must have an official transcript of course grades for three or four semesters. The semester of suspension is not included in the calculation.
5. Student who had took bachelor’s program at Taiwan’s universities should NOT apply for bachelor’s program as “new students”.

1. Fulfill the online application forms, the mailing address must fulfill the applicant’s actual residential address for mailing purposes.
2. Verification of nationality or a passport.
3. A passport-size bust photo within recent 3 months.

4. Certificate of enrollment which can prove that the applicant is currently studying in other universities in Taiwan.
5. The official transcript, Candidates applying for the sophomore year must have an official transcript of course grades for at least two semesters. Candidates transferring to the junior year must have an official transcript of course grades for four semesters. The semester of suspension is not included in the calculation.
6. A financial statement issued within recent 3 months from a financial institution with a minimum balance of US$4,000 or NT$100,000 (the bank account can be under applicant’s or parent’s name,) or proof of having a full scholarship or grant provided by a government, university, college, or private organization.
7. Language proficiency requirements: Chinese language proficiency: level TOCFL A2 or above.(Only applicable to students who apply to Chinese-taught programs, native speaker are excluded), English language proficiency: level CEFR B1 or above, TOEFL ITP 457 or TOEFL CBT137 or TOEFL iBT 57 or IELTS 4 or TOEIC 550 (Only applicable to students who apply to English-taught programs, native speaker must upload the passport).
8. Application fee receipt.
9. Study plans and autobiography.
10. Declaration for international students.
11. Additional required documents by the intended department or other supporting documents (such as the recommendation letters, activities certificates and so on).
