BRIEF HISTORY
Established in 2000, the College consists of the Department of Educational Technology, the Department of Education and Futures Design, the Graduate Institute of Educational Psychology and Counseling, the Center for Teacher Education, and the Center for Futures Intelligence and Research. Features of the College are: to create and disseminate new knowledge through future-oriented education and forward-looking programs as well as through the integration and practice of education studies; to promote indigenous and globalized model practice of education and research outcomes so as to provide the educational administrative institutions as well as the primary and secondary education with guidelines and suggestions for development; to provide on- and off- campus educational institutions with information regarding the management of educational quality by incorporating academic manpower of TKU for research execution; to advance the capacity of the overall education systems by establishing partnership with all levels of schools and institutions.
MISSIONS
To transmit and to create knowledge not only through future-oriented education and forward-looking programs, but also through integration of education theory and practice.
To promote indigenous and globalized "role-model" in education and research, providing guides for practice and development to educational institutions (administrative institutions, as well as primary and secondary schools).
To enhance the quality and capability of overall education through integrating the academic manpower of Tamkang University, carrying out research and experiments in related curricula, providing on- and off- campus educational institutions with information regarding the management of educational quality, and establishing alliance with all levels of schools and institutions.
VALUE
Goodwill: The essence of education is to guide learners in developing the good side of human nature. To accomplish this, teachers have to think positively, not negatively, of their students.
Perseverance: Educational ideals not easily become reality; therefore, teachers have to uphold their holy ideals tightly to their full realization.
Creativity: To face rapid social changes and the challenge of keen competition, teachers must remain/be creative. It enables them to catch up with times and to lead the society.
